My name is Elad Salomon. I am 36 years old. I live in Elad, a city near Tell Aviv, with my loving wife Michal and our five beautiful children. I knew Michal and I were meant to be on our first date when she fell out of her kayak. I raced over in mine to rescue her and pulled here from the water. And we’ve been together ever since. I had recently taken some time off to spend with my children at home especially our youngest, who are twins! But two weeks ago I started a new job at a sports gambling site working with computers.
On the July 23, 2017, my family and I went to visit my parents for Shabbat dinner to celebrate the birth of my youngest nephew! My parents invited the entire neighborhood and as we were finishing dinner, waiting for the guests to arrive, 19 year old Palestinian terrorist Omar al-Abed entered our home wielding a knife.
I locked eyes with my wife. Between us was an unspoken agreement that we would protect all the children – at any and all cost. As I lunged towards him to defend my family, Michal was able to grab all the children and barricade them, and herself, in a room upstairs. My sister Chaya and father Yossi also jumped into the fray to defend me and our family’s home against this murdering intruder. All three of us were killed as a result of the countless stab wounds we sustained. My name is Elad Salomon. I am 36 years old. And I am one of #TheFallenFaces.Learn more about Elad Salomon here.
