My name is Hassan Twatha. I am 42 years old. I am from the Arab village of Jisr a-Zarqa and am a devout Israeli Muslim. I have a wonderful wife, AIda, and three beautiful young children, Esra, Ahmed and Amin. I am also a big football fan and coached the local village team. I work at a shop in Hadera fixing lawn mowers, but my real passion is electronics. Someday I hope to open my own shop and have been taking classes to make my dream a reality! I believe strongly that a good education is the key to success.
On May 19, 2003, I was traveling to the Amakim Mall in Afula where I took classes. As I was heading to the entrance, the security guard stopped a young woman in front of me. As the guard called for help, the woman – Hiba Azam Dragma, a 19 year old from Tubas in the West Bank and a freshman at Al Quds University studying English literature – detonated an explosive device. She mortally wounded the two security guards on duty and myself. Another 70 people were injured. I was transported to the hospital were I died. My name is Hassan Twatha. I am 41 years old. And I am one of the #TheFallenFaces.Learn more about Hassan Twatha here.
